JUST four months after a suite of new outdoor furniture was installed in Tuam’s Palace Grounds, extensive damage has been caused to a picnic table after it was set alight over the weekend.

The alarm was raised on Saturday night when smoke was seen coming from the section of the park at the rear of Tuam Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre.

The incident has provoked an angry response from members of the public, with many calling on the authorities to clamp down on anti-social behaviour in the area.
