Sarah’s festive song raises €1,000 for sick children

21 Galway families to benefit from proceeds

A TUAM teenager has directly helped provide 50 hours of care to sick children throughout County Galway after her Christmas song raised over €1,000 for charity.

Sarah Ahern, 13, from Togher, wrote and recorded her song, Christmas Is Here, and launched it last month at Archbishop McHale College, where she is a First-Year student.

The online fundraiser raised a grand total of €1,055, which Sarah and her younger brother Dara presented to the Jack and Jill Foundation last week.

The charity provides in-home nursing care and respite support for children up to the age of six with severe to profound neurodevelopmental delay.
