New Editor for The Tuam Herald

THE Tuam Herald has appointed a new Editor to succeed David Burke, who is retiring later this month.

He is Stephen Glennon, an experienced news and sport journalist.

A native of Athleague, Co Roscommon, he attended secondary school at Coláiste Mhuire, Ballygar, before studying for a BA in English & History and the Higher Diploma in Applied Media Communications at NUI Galway.

He also completed a Masters in Creative Writing at NUI Galway and has been published in Ropes, The Galway Review and Crannog.

Stephen began his career with The Roscommon Herald and later worked with The Nationalist & Leinster Times and The Roscommon Champion.

He spent the last 17 years with The Connacht Tribune, first in news and features and later specialising in sport.

In 2004, he wrote the book, To Win Just Once, charting the All-Ireland winning success of Galway senior ladies footballers that year.
