Electric all the way

Couple both drive electric vehicles

PITSTOPS on the journey east to Dublin from this side of the country are almost inevitable.

Whether that's to fill a gap in one’s stomach, or exercise the bowels. Refuelling a vehicle is also common in this pursuit.

When Michael Kenny travelled to the capital from Milltown in the past few weeks, he halted his vehicle twice along the route. Fuel efficiency isn’t a concern for Michael. He doesn't use the petrol or diesel pumps.

His Nissan Leaf is a fully electric model. Thus, it requires an EV (Electric Vehicle) charging point.

“We were away on a camping trip recently, and we brought both cars,” said Michael, whose wife Rachel also owns an electric car, a Renault Zoe.
