Six Galway towns to get a bright boost

HEADFORD, Glenamaddy and Ballygar are among the six towns that will share funding of €320,000 to help brighten up the streetscapes over the coming months.

The towns, along with Oranmore, Oughterard and Loughrea, have been selected by Galway County Council to benefit from the county’s allocation of funds in a street enhancement scheme.

Grant aid will be available to businesses, residents and community groups for a range of items from painting shop fronts or updating signage to installing lighting at points of interest. Street furniture and awnings on buildings will also be considered.
