Two Steps for Katie campaign smashes €100,000 target

THE family of a three-year-old girl from Ballyglunin are “speechless” at the outpouring of public support which has raised over €100,000 in just over a week.

Bright-eyed Katie Walsh had to have her left foot amputated following a horrific machinery accident at her home at the end of April. While the serious injury has been a huge shock, all her family and friends are delighted and feel very fortunate that she is alive and doing so well.

Her aunt Tricia Quinn, along with friends, set up a Go Fund me page, to help raise money towards Katie’s rehabilitation and ongoing care. Speaking to The Tuam Herald, Tricia said no one ever expected to reach and surpass the target in such a short space of time.
