Friends’ marathon will raise awareness of hidden heart condition

DEATH came like the biblical thief in the night to 27-year-old Luke Nolan from Moycullen this time last year. Living in Melbourne, Australia, he suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of the night and died the next day, May 11, 2020.

His family, with him via video call, and his friends were devastated, and after the initial shock wore off, four of them decided to do something practical in his memory.

They are Joe Doyle-Ward from Tuam, Daragh Moran (Headford), Callan Qualter (Salthill) and Paul Gannon (Moycullen) and on Tuesday May 11 they ran a marathon to raise funds for the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
