Objections lodged against planned extension of Belclare quarry

 
 
OBJECTIONS from local residents have been lodged against plans to extend a quarry on the outskirts of Belclare village.
McTigues Quarry have lodged a planning application for the development of the quarrying of limestone west of their existing quarry at Carton, Belclare.
McTigues are part owner of the 2.3 hectare site and the other private landowner has given his consent for the application to be made.
The application describes the development as “modest” in comparison to operations at the other quarry, which is located close to another quarry operated by Mortimers.
Several objections have been submitted by people living in the area which raise a number of concerns
