One up, one down in Galway Senior Football Championship

THE runners and riders in this year's Galway Senior Football Championship learned their group opponents at a socially distanced redraw held on the premises of competition sponsors Claregalway Hotel.
Last week, the Galway Football Committee confirmed that one club will be relegated under the revised structure in 2020 and only the Intermediate Football Championship winners will travel in the opposite direction. Under the original format, it was envisaged that a 'two up, two down' policy would again be in force for this year's flagship competition, however GAA chiefs have instead decided to revert to just 'one up, one down'.
Eight in-a-row chasing Corofin, 2019 runners-up Tuam Stars and last year's defeated semi-finalists Salthill-Knocknacarra and Moycullen were all seeded with an open draw thereafter and teams split into three groups of four and two groups of three. Mountbellew-Moylough, St Michael’s, Monivea-Abbey, Annaghdown, Milltown, Caherlistrane, An Spidéal, Killannin, Claregalway, Barna, An Cheathrú Rua, St James', Oughterard and Micheál Breathnach complete this year's line-up.
