Dunmore water supply close to drought levels

PEOPLE in Dunmore and several other parts of Galway are urged to be mindful of water usage as water levels are close to drought levels.
The recent long dry spell of weather and a 20 per cent rise in domestic water use is putting water supplies in the West, in particular, under pressure.
There are already night-time water restrictions in place on Inis Oirr and Inis Mór and Irish Water says public water supplies in Dunmore, Ahascragh, Ballinasloe and Gort are at risk of reaching drought levels
People in Galway are asked to choose handwashing over power washing as domestic water usage has increased by an average of an additional 24 litres of water per person per day since mid-March.
