Pedestrian injured in accident near Tuam

A young man was taken to hospital last night (Monday) after he was hit by a car on the outskirts of Tuam.
The incident occurred around 8.15pm in the townland of Killelaun, on the Tuam side of Cloonmore Bridge on the Tuam-Galway Road.
Gardai and ambulance crews attended the scene. The male pedestrian in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Galway where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The driver of the car was uninjured.
Gardai in Tuam are investigating the incident.
