Athenry will be home to West of Ireland’s first dedicated dog park
ATHENRY is to be home to the West of Ireland’s first-ever dedicated Dog Park now that An Bord Pleanala has granted planning permission for the development.
A nearby boys’ national school had objected to the proposal and wanted the board to overturn Galway County Council’s decision made earlier this year giving it the go ahead.
The idea for the park came from a group called Dog Park Athenry who have the permission to use the half hectare site, subject to planning permission, by its owners, Athenry Community Council.
