Joe O'Toole funds Tuam Stadium upgrade

ONE of the leading businessmen in the West of Ireland has offered financial support to a planned new phase of a major redevelopment of Tuam Stadium.
Joe O’Toole, in his 51st year of business at SuperValu, Bishop Street, Tuam, will fund a new roof on the stand at the iconic GAA venue which has hosted club and inter-county games since it was opened on May 25, 1950.
Mr O’Toole, a native of Headford, and also the owner of a restaurant and homeware store at Bishop Street, will also provide the funding for new steel in the stand and new seating for 1,700 spectators.
Details of the investment figures have not yet been made public but Joe O’Toole's financial backing has been confirmed to the Development Advocates for Tuam Stadium (DAfTS) committee who have been working for the past four years to raise funds for improvements and badly needed new facilities.
