READY: Brendan Murray

Tuam singer focused ahead of X Factor Live Show

TUAM’S Brendan Murray will perform live on The X Factor tonight as one of the 16 finalists and he’s told The Tuam Herald his mind is clearly fixed on doing his best and making it through.

The 21-year-old is mentored by One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson and has enjoyed his hectic week of rehearsals, media interviews and events.

Last week TV audiences watched Brendan make an emotional call home to tell his parents Julianne and Frank that he’d made it through to the live shows. There were tears at both ends of the phone.

Tonight (Saturday) is the first of the Live Shows and all contestants will be eager to secure enough votes to keep them in the competition and make it through to the final on December 1.

It’s been a hectic week for Brendan who is enjoying his first week living in the same house as the 15 other contestants.

Brendan will sing live tonight but we’ll have to wait until tomorrow night (Sunday) for the results and who makes it through for another week.

• The X Factor airs Saturday and Sunday on Virgin Media One from 8pm.
