Galway harper wins at Fleadh Cheoil
ONE of the founders of the Athenry School of Music has come first in the All Ireland Senior Harp Slow Airs competition in Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda.
Harper Úna Ní Fhlannagáin from Craughwell was presented with the silver-plated Granville Cup by the president of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, Vincent Jordan.
Úna, who now lives in Bearna, is one of the founders of the Athenry School of Music, and as well as traditional music, she plays jazz, pop, and original composition.
