M'bellew college on 21st century 'smart ag' path

MOUNTBELLEW Agricultural College (MAC) has launched an ambitious five-year plan which is designed to not only place the institute at the forefront of agricultural education and training but to maintain their student numbers at between 850 and 1,000 over this period.
The Strategic Development Plan 2016-2021 was launched by EU Agricultural and Rural Development Commissioner Phil Hogan at the college on Friday.
It sets out wide-ranging targets which the college Principal Tom Burke and the Chairperson of the Board of Management Marian Coy are confident can be achieved in partnership with educational and development agencies ranging from Teagasc to NUIG and GMIT.
