Damaged vocal cords force Saw Docs to cancel shows

BADLY damaged vocal cords have forced The Saw Doctors to cancel the trio of shows that were set to herald their return to the live stage in Ireland.
This week’s three shows in Dublin’s Olympia Theatre were all sold out, as was the show cancelled last weekend at Galway’s Seapoint.
Founding member and lead singer Davy Carton is suffering from very badly damaged vocal cords for which he underwent an operation last week.
Manager Ollie Jennings says the entire band is extremely disappointed to have to cancel the shows and regrets letting down their fans.
“It’s unprecedented. We’ve never actually cancelled a show before.
We sincerely apologise to all those who had tickets and who are inconvenienced. Our focus now is on Davy resting, recuperating and making a full recovery,” Ollie told The Tuam Herald.
The Olympia shows were the first announced earlier this year following the confirmation that the much-loved band were making a comeback to live shows after a break of over three years.
