Lobby to double the numbers on Co Galway community schemes

THE number of workers in Rural Social Schemes needs to be doubled, Minister Leo Varadkar has been told.
There are only 156 workers across North and East Galway from Ballymoe to Banagher in Offaly and from Woodford to Headford.
Minister Varadkar was told during a visit to see a successful Rural Social Scheme (RSS) in Caherlistrane that this needs to be doubled to benefit every small town and village in this area.
