Teenage entrepreneur's Free Feet seeks €20k seed funding

A KITCHEN table science project has morphed into one of the most exciting developments in healthcare in recent years, as a young Athenry entrepreneur aims to commercially develop her invention to improve the lives of those living with Parkinson’s.
Edel Browne may only be 19 but over the past three years she has been busy developing the Free Feet device that was awarded the Best Individual Award at BT Young Scientist when she was a fifth year student at Presentation College, Athenry in 2013.
Now a third year student at NUI Galway where she is studying biotechnology, Edel has secured an Entrepreneur in Residence scholarship to allow her to combine her work on Free Feet alongside her studies.
