Our boy in green

CHARITY cyclist Brendan Monaghan was delighted to get a prime position in the Stade de France on Monday evening for the Ireland-Sweden match. It was the perfect end to a 700 km bike journey which he began five days earlier from The Square in Tuam.
By sheer luck he got in with a group of Gold Badge holders and ended up on the halfway line.
Speaking to The Tuam Herald on Tuesday, as he took the pace down a notch with some sightseeing cycling around the French capital, Brendan said the experience had far exceeded all his previous expectations.
“It’s been an amazing experience and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it, particularly making it to the Ireland game,” he said.
