FINE margins was all that separated the teams at the end of the 60 minutes and it was Loughrea who gained some early impetus in the minefield that is Group 1 of the Senior A Hurling Championship, with 'the Town’ grateful for the accuracy of their free-taker and captain Neil Keary for doing so.
The diminutive Loughrea man had a fine game sniping ball around the middle of the field, and more importantly was also on the money with nine of his placed balls, two of which came in time added on.
Next on Loughrea’s horizon is a meeting this coming Sunday with St Thomas’, the team who knocked them out of the 2015 Championship in a quarter-final replay six months ago.
