Dunmore conquer local rivals Kilkerrin-Clonberne in Division 3 decider

DUNMORE overcame near neighbours Kilkerrin-Clonberne on Sunday to claim the Division 3 football league title in Tuam Stadium. Points coming from the boot of nine different players for Dunmore overpowered their local rivals while midfielder Eugene Stritch (0-4) gave a magnificent man of the match performance for a steely MacHale’s side.
In challenging conditions the clinical finishing of Dunmore proved vital, with Kilkerrin-Clonberne resorting to long range shots that resulted in a high number of wides. Kilkerrin-Clonberne will be happy to put 2015 behind them after coming away from Tuam Stadium defeated in a final for a second time in as many months.
MacHales started ever the brighter and took the lead through Eugene Stritch who latched onto a ball from midfield partner Joe Burke before striking over a lovely curling effort with the outside of his boot from 30 yards.
