Late corkery strike decisive as cork retain camogie crown
A LATE Briege Corkery goal proved the game-breaking score as a dominant Cork captured their sixth All-Ireland Senior Camogie crown in 14 seasons and ended Galway’s unbeaten run in 2015, and with it designs on a third-ever crown.
Even if the Rebel County were full value for their seven-point win, it was still a cruel way for it all to end for Tony Ward and his Galway side. They bounced back impressively from a disappointing campaign in 2014 and with several new faces on board pieced together an 11-match unbeaten run that brought a first league title in a decade and took them all the way to Sunday’s final.
