Phone lines cut in raid on caherlistrane shop

Phone and broadband lines were cut in three places, leaving some householders without connection for two days, after an attempted raid on Keane’s Shop and Filling Station, Caherlistrane at about 2.30 last Wednesday morning.
The would-be-burglars were disturbed when alert neighbours heard the alarm going off and phoned the Keane family who operate the shop and live some distance away in Cave village. Amy Keane says that they were quickly on the scene as were the Gardai from Tuam who were also alerted.
