Late kenny and salmon goals steal it for galway

YOU could pretty much choose any praise you like for Galway minors performance on Sunday.
They may be a side that gets themselves in trouble but their ability to get themselves back out of it again has been their calling card. Previous Galway minor teams may have been stocked with gifted prodigies. This outfit relies more on fight, character and heart. They have an unshakeable spirit and self-belief and simply don’t know when they’re beaten.
On Sunday, they pulled another one out of the bag against Kilkenny. Just as they did in normal and extra-time of the drawn match seven days earlier, Galway looked a beaten docket. But they stayed in the game, kept believing and delivered two sucker-punch goals from subs Jack Kenny and Cian Salmon inside the closing five minutes to swing it their way.
A 17th final at the grade since 1992 and a meeting with Tipperary now beckons.
