Kilconly women get presidential seal of approval

TWO Kilconly women made their mark at the official re-opening of one of Galway’s most iconic buildings.
Caroline McNeill (nee McHugh) and Elaine Boyle got the presidential seal of approval from Michael D Higgins during the official opening of the renovated Fishery Watchtower Museum last Friday.
Caroline, who is originally from Brooklawn, has been supervising the restoration project over the past two years on behalf of the Galway Civic Trust, where she is manager.
A chance meeting with her friend Elaine, who had been a classmate at Kilconly NS, resulted in the award-winning baker being tasked with creating a cake modelled on the watchtower.
