Clearance for work to start on new gaelscoil

ISSUES regarding the process of acquiring the site earmarked for a new purpose-built school for Gaelscoil Iarfhlatha in Tuam have been resolved and construction work can now proceed.
Last month the Department of Education was questioned about the delay in building work starting on the new 12-classroom school.
Planning permission was granted last year for the two-storey development on a site at Vicars Choroland close to the town centre.
Up to 100 construction workers are expected to be involved in the building of the school.
