Smaller bigger better your new tuam herald

TODAY your Tuam Herald appears in a new compact format. For the first time in our 177-year history we move from the traditional broadsheet to a smaller page, and we extend a warm welcome to all readers, old and new.
The reason we made the move is simple — it is what the vast majority of our readers want. Since we announced the change last week, we have had many messages of goodwill.
You, our readers, have told us you are looking forward to the change, and we are confident that you will like what you see and feel.
The page size is smaller, but the number of pages has more than doubled. You will find that your paper has introduced new features, as well as holding on to and improving all that has earned us a loyal readership over many years.
The new layout means that the paper is more structured to suit the varying tastes of the people who read it.
There are more news pages towards the front of the paper. Opinions, features, local notes and lifestyle are grouped around the middle. And our expanded sport section begins on the traditional back page.
Our loyal advertisers have already voted confidence in the new format, and as the weeks go by we are sure that more businesses will see that we are the best and widest-reaching local news medium.
Your comments and suggestions on all aspects of the paper are most welcome. Contact us in person, at any of the addresses on this page, or email editor@tuamherald.ie.
Thank you for your confidence in us. We will continue to do our utmost to be worthy of it.
