Ms sufferers in new physio programme

PEOPLE with multiple sclerosis (MS) in Galway are being asked to take part in a new physiotherapy-led exercise and education programme being run in University of Limerick
Step It Up aims to impact on MS symptoms such as muscle strength, walking mobility, fatigue, mood and facilitate long-term and sustainable management of the condition.
The ten-week programme, which is led by UL researcher and physiotherapist Dr Susan Coote, is set to impact significantly on these MS symptoms and people with MS are urged to make contact ahead of classes beginning in January.
The exercise programme is in combination with an educational component to enable participants to become active and to personally sustain this level of activity long-term, ensuring that the benefits achieved through the programme are maintained.
