Man hospitalised after tuam incident

EARLY morning traffic was slowed down in Tuam town centre yesterday (Tuesday) after Gardai had to cordon off an area of The Square following an incident during the night after which one man was hospitalised with suspected facial injuries.
The man was rushed to Galway University Hospital where it is understood that his condition had improved last evening.
Gardai are following a number of lines of enquiry regarding the incident and they are also viewing CCTV footage but as yet no arrests have been made.

Tuam Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident reported.
Supt Pat McHugh asked for any passers-by, on foot or in cars, shortly after midnight, to contact Tuam Garda Station, 093 24202. They are anxious to speak to two motorists who drove by in the direction of Dublin Road around the time of the incident.
