Ambitious tuam golfer set for place at darren clarke academy

A TUAM teenager with a driving ambition is on the cusp of taking up a place at the prestigious Darren Clarke Golf School in Northern Ireland as he bids to become a professional golfer.
Ross Kelly, 15, from Kilbannon, is a Junior Cert student at St Jarlath’s College. The talented teen plays off a handicap of 4.6 at Tuam Golf Club where his coach, TP Niland, has been working with him for the past three years.
“Ross has stuck out like a sore thumb at the club since he started but over the past two seasons his development has taken a life of its own and he’s making a fierce impression on the national scene,” said TP.
