Connacht Senior Football Championship starts this weekend

GALWAY football followers looking forward to the county senior team’s summer campaign will have an excellent opportunity to assess their prospects when they play Meath on Sunday, May 11th at 2.00 o’clock — in what’s described as 'a pre-Championship warm-up match.'

It’ll take place at Ratoath, County Meath as part of the local GAA club’s 10-year anniversary of the opening of Seán Eiffe Park on the Dunshaughlin Road.

The host club and Meath County Board have been giving this game plenty of publicity and both sides will regard it as ideal build-up for the provincial Championships; it’ll come two weeks before Galway play London at Ruislip, while Meath will be preparing for their Leinster Championship clash with Carlow on June 15th.

Seán Eiffe Park, Ratoath is said to be easily accessible from both the M2 and M3 which are only 10-minute drives either side of it from the Ashbourne and Dunshaughlin exits, respectively.

It will take Galway visitors only 20 minutes to get to the venue from the Maynooth or Leixlip West exits on the M4.
