Gentle petals
THE floral trend is certainly blooming at the moment and most shop floors are covered in petals, from the bright, big and bold to the more delicate and dainty.
Fortunately, it’s a look that can be incorporated into your wardrobe with as much subtlety or drama as you like. Wearing florals top and bottom might work for some but I don’t think the streets will be wallpapered just quite yet.
There’s a fear that the more gentle approach can turn out a tad twee and that you end up resembling a Cath Kidston apron ready to whip up a Victoria sponge as opposed to updating your own bouquet of style.
When opting for a softer floral look, avoid choosing pieces that are overly vintage and be sure to mix floral prints with sharp tailoring or plain textures.
If you want to avoid wearing this season’s blooms then you can always add a stem or two through accessories such as belts, bags and scarves.
