Former St Jarlath’s head to be PP Athenry in Diocesan changes
ARCHBISHOP of Tuam Dr Michael Neary has announced a number of diocean changes and one of those sees Canon Brendan Kilcoyne, President, St. Jarlathâ€â„¢s College becoming P.P., and V.F., in Athenry where Canon Anthony King is retiring. Another former St Jarlathâ€â„¢s College teacher, and Tuam native, Monsignor Dermot Moloney, P.P., V.G., Crossboyne is also retiring but he will continue as Vicar General.[private] Popular Tuam-based priest Fr Seán Cunningham, a native of Mountbellew, moves from his post as CC in Tuam to be CC in Castlebar. Another former Tuam-based priest Fr Charlie McDonnell, Adm., Westport is to also have responsibility for administration of Kilmeena parish and Fr Gerry Burns, P.P., Letterfrack, who served for a time in Tuam, is to minister in the Diocese of Orlando in the United States. Tuam man Fr Frank McGrath, S.M.A., a native of Church View moves from Williamstown to be C.C., Achill while Fr Patrick Mooney, P.P., Glenamaddy, is to have responsibility for administration of Williamstown parish.
