Six ‘All-Ireland medals' for 106-year-old Margaret

ON Monday Margaret Crisham from Cloonfush, Tuam celebrated her 106th birthday, and she still reads the newspapers regularly and watches TV.[private] Margaret celebrated her birthday with family and friends and her son Brian said she now has 'six all-Ireland medals', from two Presidents, as she has got one each year since reaching her centenary in 2006. She enjoyed looking at her birthday cards on Monday and in particular one that had a photo of her and family members from last year's celebrations with the five medals that she had got up to then. Margaret still lives in the family home in the village of Clonfush where she has spent most of her adult life, apart from a short sojourn in the USA, when she was in her 20s. She was honoured as a Tuam Person of the Year in 2007.[/private]
