New bus routes for New Inn school
By TOM GILMORE NEW bus routes have been developed this year for St. Killian's Vocational School New Inn, making it more convenient for many of its students to get transport to the school. 'The population trends change over the years and the existing Bus Éireann routes do not always reflect this.[private] 'Added to this is the increased interest of students from areas which would not have traditionally come to the school and now we have a wider area to cater for,' says former Galway hurling star and principal of the school Padraig Kelly. A new bus has been purchased to provide this service, which has been made possible by sponsorship from Lyons Financial Services (LFS) and Turoe Pet Farm. 'Turoe Pet Farm provide a canteen service in the school and have always been prepared to give back to the school. LFS were recommended by Co Galway VEC and they spoke to all our staff in the recent past which proved very worthwhile. We are very grateful for their very generous donation,' says the principal. He added that Lyons Financial Services are a community-based company with a national presence, and Roisin Lyons, of the firm, is a well-known contributor in the media on various financial and health insurance matters.[/private]
