Milltown overcome Caltra

MILLTOWN remain on the right side of the Senior Championship equation, holding out against Caltra in the last of the five matches played in Tuam over the weekend.

Dessie Dolan Senior's squad head into the third round draw, whilst Caltra face into the prospect of battling relegation after losses to St James' and now Milltown.
Potentially, it could have been a different outcome though. Michael Meehan does not owe his club anything. He's won countless games for Caltra off his own bat. Last Sunday, his shooting boots unfortunately were not on, and he accounted for six of Caltra's seven second half wides, three of which came from the placed ball. Without wanting to harp on about the subject, Caltra are also a far dangerous opponent with Padraic and Cathal Mannion in tow.
On the balance of things, Milltown did shade proceedings. Caltra finished on 13 wides, with their opponents just behind on 12.
