O'Donovan inspires Corofin to first Connacht minor title

IT TOOK them a bit of time but Corofin minor ladies eventually stamped their class on Saturday’s Connacht Club Championship final to run out convincing winners over Glencar-Manorhamilton in Bekan.
Given the final scoreline, it’s hard to believe that the sides were level five minutes before half-time when Chelsey Blade struck for Corofin’s third goal, a score that steadied the ship after the Leitrim side had threatened a shock.
But with Amy O’Donovan, who would go on to score an incredible 2-11 on the day of her 17th birthday, leading the way, Corofin weathered the storm before striking decisively when Glencar-Manorhamilton’s full-back Hannah Johnston was in the sin-bin.
