Varley leads way as clinical cortoon cruise into last four

A DEVASTATING attacking performance by Cortoon Shamrocks meant that this game as a contest never really got going. Granted, An Cheathrú Rua did hit the back of the net twice in the opening 10 minutes, but from there on in, it was Cortoon who called all the shots.
Either Corofin or Tuam Stars will be a huge acid test for them in the county semi-final, but from beating St. Michael’s to Naomh Anna, Leitir Móir and now An Cheathrú Rua, they have been on an upward incline in this year’s Championship.
The main thorn in the Carraroe side last Sunday was Adrian Varley, scorer of 2-4 in the first 30 minutes of play.
