North b cship glory for annaghdown and the c title for st brendans

ANNAGHDOWN won the North Board Minor B Football Championship final against Oranmore-Maree at Tuam Stadium last Saturday, straight after St Brendan’s were crowned Minor C champions.
The B final finished Annaghdown 1-11 Oranmore-Maree 0-9; it was 1-7 to 0-4 at half-time.
In the C final, St Brendan’s held off a spirited rally by Killererin to win by three points, 2-13 to  2-10.
Annaghdown’s teamwork was outstanding in a very well contested North B decider; it was the key factor, even though the winners also had several exceptionally talented individuals but they all played for the team and their support play was excellent all through, often executed at blistering pace, the length of the field.
They will play Oughterard in the County MFC B final.
I’d go so far as to say that this very well prepared Annaghdown team would have made at least the semi-finals of the A competition.
