Galway hurlers qualify for National League semi-final clash with Kilkenny

AT LIMERICK GAELIC GROUNDS

GALWAY’S Allianz National Hurling League campaign has been solid rather than spectacular during their Division 1A group games and the trend continued at the Gaelic grounds, Limerick last Sunday when they didn’t have to be at their best to beat the host county with greater ease than they would have expected in their quarter-final tie. They will play Kilkenny in the semi-finals on Easter Sunday.

Galway gradually wore down a less than adventurous Limerick team who possibly paid the visitors too much respect.

TJ Ryan’s side played with some forwards withdrawn to the middle third of the field even when the game was beyond them and their short-passing possession game never worked against fast-tackling opponents.

Galway 1-20 Limerick 1-12
