A sample greenway in Tuam

TUAM Tidy Towns members and Greenway activists have combined to show what a greenway along the old railway line could look.
Over 50 people joined forces with the Tidy Towns group to help with the railway enhancement project.
The disused line had become overgrown and was seen as an eyesore that ran through the heart of the town. It's now completely cleared and planters have been positioned along the line. The group have plans to further develop the railway campus which covers over 12 acres near the town centre.
A debate in ongoing whether the line should be utilised for railway or greenway but the group are unhappy with the rate of progress to date and now plan to use community spirit to keep the area maintained.
