Kilkerrin teen’s assistance dog makes history

A KILKERRIN teenager is making history with her autism assistance dog who is the first canine to attend school with its owner.

Rebecca Pettit, 16, has had her black Labrador, Bella, for the past four years. The difference her four-legged friend has made to the young girl’s life in that time has been remarkable. Now in second year at Glenamaddy Community School, the pair are a familiar sight along the school corridor, where they easily blend into school life.
