Good Friday in the pub

THERE might have been a great fuss made about Good Friday pub openings but for most of Tuam and  North Galway it was just like any other Friday. 

Most of Tuam's 21 pubs opened their doors on Good Friday and though none of them reported a mad rush to the bar on the day, no publican regretted their decision. 
Margaret Rattigan of The Thatch Bar had thought hard about her decision but opted to open seeing that others were doing so. She said it was "just like an ordinary Friday though the previous evening was quite busy."
