Greenway fans are cleaning up the line

HOPES that a decision on the future of the rail line through Tuam will be determined by September are fuelling efforts to clear the area by volunteers campaigning for a Greenway along the line.

Tuam Greenway, in association with the local Tidy Towns group, have started a major clean-up operation along the line.
Over the past two weeks a team of volunteers have been working to clear scrub and litter from a mile-long stretch from Abbey Trinity to Glass Avenue.
Efforts to advance the campaign to develop a Greenway adjacent to the rail line are stalled until the outcome of an independent review into the viability of rail services from Athenry to Milltown is known.
