Work to begin on restoring rail station roof after global appeal

VITAL work to restore the roof of Ballyglunin Railway Station is to begin next week as part of a major facelift to the historic building.

An international fundraising campaign over the summer secured over €32,000 for the project, which has also received a grant from the Heritage Council.
The works are expected to take in the region of six weeks to complete, with local contractor Loughwood Construction appointed to carry out the restoration.
