Appeals board turn down Tuam large scale service station and drive-thru

ONE of the largest of a number of drive-thru and service station developments proposed for Tuam’s outskirts has been turned down by An Bord Pleanala.
The development which would have been similar to that operated by Applegreen on the Dublin-Galway motorway was earmarked for a site close to where the Tuam Bypass will intersect with the new Tuam to Gort motorway route.
The multi-million euro development was proposed for the existing Brogan’s Tractor Sales site and was to include a service station, shop and off-licence, three food outlets, including a drive-thru, parking for over 100 cars as well as parking for coaches and large trucks.
