MARRIED and single men throughout Tuam are being invited to become permanent deacons in a plan by the archdiocese to support the dwindling number of priests.
In what marks a U-turn on the issue, Archbishop Michael Neary has approved the introduction of a permanent deaconate in the archdiocese that will see the first deacons ordained to ministry in 2021.
