Teenage Corofin jockey gets dream start in UK

TEENAGE Corofin jockey Rossa Ryan (16), from Ballinderry, has been head hunted by the UK trainer Richard Hannon, and the 16-year-old will fly to England to join his stable this Thursday.
This is an incredible achievement for the young jockey and his father David says they are delighted that it was the Hannon stable that came looking for young Rossa.
“Richard Hannon contacted him and asked him to come over to his stable for a week to see how he would work out there.
“After that he made him the offer to take him on as an apprentice jockey. Rossa and the young English jockey Holly Doyle are the only two apprentices selected,” says Rossa’s father.
