Multinationals go where they want - not where IDA says

A SENIOR IDA executive has said that politicians representing smaller towns around the county had to be realistic about their chances of attracting multinationals to their communities.
Brendan McDonald, Regional Executive, IDA West Region told members of the Ballinasloe Municipal District Council at their November meeting that the multinational companies the IDA worked with had their pick of locations and factories from around the globe and they were unlikely to select a location such as Ballinasloe over Amsterdam or even Dublin, locations where all their needs could be met on the doorstep.
